STAND UP DAILY for:

Puppy Pile of children

First Purpose: Empower and Unite We-The-People to reclaim our country from the oligarchy and from corporate controlled politicians.

Ultimate Purpose: To make Mother Earth livable for our children, and for all the creatures and species we share this beautiful & damaged planet with.

While it would be awesome and most powerful if America could get focused on one NAG at a time (e.g. Get Big Money Out of Politics) that is unlikely...

An alternative to having all of America focused on one NAG, we could have a NAG for each day of the week: Money Mondays (Get Big Money Out Of Politics); Voting Rights Tuesdays (fix the VRA & Gerrymandering, Easy voting); Worker Wednesdays (Infrastructure & green energy jobs w/ living wages for all); Think Healthcare-for-All Thursdays; Fairness Doctrine Fridays (make media honest & equitable again); Safer Society Saturdays (sensible gun and immigration laws & police demilitarization); and Save the Planet Sundays.

The National American Goal (NAG) Strategy: With our neighbors, sisters, brothers & siblings do short & sweet non-violent daily actions to encourage - or nag as necessary - our politicians into appropriate legislative action.

Do it relentlessly any day, every day, once a week - as often as it works for your group - anywhere and everywhere during: lunch time at work or school; at sporting events; group gatherings or actions. Be creative, have fun!

The Tool: Use the ‘Stand Up, Hands Up, Minute Of Silence’ (MOS) tool like we did with 500,000 for the 2014 People's Climate March in NYC, it was amazing and powerful, almost everyone in sight had a (Nelson Mandela) fist or the peace symbol raised up high, many held hands with each other...

 The NAG list

Professor Paul Goren, chair of University of Minnesota Poli-Sci Dept., said (before the Parkland high school massacre & the Enough is Enough movement) the top two Goals should be: Get Big Money Out of Politics and fix Gerrymandering.

Other key National American Goals: Single-Payer/Medicare-For-All; Infra-structure Jobs; Sensible Gun laws;  Voting Rights; Bank Reform; Police Demilitarization; Immigration; Fair Taxation; the Green New Deal*; Return the Fairness Doctrine (free & truthful media is the 4th leg necessary for a functioning government), etc.

Details for the “Stand Up, Hands Up, Minute of Silence” action tool...

Plan ahead so the action will be initiated by those who are interested and not lead by an MC or some one person telling the group what to do. Make it a group-initiated MOS, like an 'out-of-the-blue' flash mob. Perhaps pick a clock time (e.g. at 12:12 PM***) or an opportune moment like right after a certain speaker is done talking  to avoid interrupting them disrespectfully. Win hearts instead of angering fellow Americans.

Or if your group opposes a certain speaker initiate the MOS just as they start talking.

Or the opportune moment could be when a march gets to a certain destination. Or when a certain period, quarter or inning ends at a sporting event.

When it is time: Stand Up! with a Hand Up! with the peace symbol or  the “Nelson Mandela” fist  held high for a Minute of Silence. Or hold hands with others if you'd like, with permission of course.
Count to fifty silently, a moment for each of our 50 states, see others doing the same.

*** 12 because we are at or near the 12th hour for our planet; regarding our politics: oligarchy and fascism are already here and it is beyond the time for We-the-People to reclaim our power so we can heal our: politics; our country and Mother Earth too!

And at 12:12 pm because many people will be in groups at lunch time.
If anyone would like, end by taking a knee in support of making Non-White Lives Matter Too. Or not.

Have small U.S. flags ready for ourselves to hold and for newbie neighbors who would like to have and/or hold one. Maybe a Unity Flag.

After the Moment Of Silence cheer and announce the NAG by calling it a few times. Or sing a song but not enough to annoy.  Keep it short and sweet, and win hearts as Dr. Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. advised.

Then connect with others doing the same and with those who are interested.  Hand out copies of a flier (or let folks take pictures of it) explaining what is happening, when it will happen again and invite folks to join in. Tell everyone about this website.

Connect with someone you don't know, perhaps someone who doesn’t look like you. Talk about what just happened, brainstorm when this could happen elsewhere, perhaps at a sporting event, work, school, church, picnic, etc. Encourage each other to do this in their lives, on a daily basis, or just once a week, or whenever it could work. But keep doing it with a focus on one National American Goal at a time.

Pick a time or opportunity that works and let others know ahead of time so We-the-People make it happen “out of the blue” without needing someone to announce it, somewhat like a flash mob.

If you were the organizers for the action, gather to review what happened, what worked and make plans for the next time. And, instead of talking about 'what was wrong' (which can lead folks to feeling embarrassed about an idea they had that didn't work out), identify what was missing, then you're closer to finding improvements for next time. Consider getting copies of "GETTING TO YES - Negotiating Agreement Without Giving In" where e.g. it talks about focusing energy on finding solutions, instead of on people: separate the people from the problem.

Have a meal together or do something fun. Introduce new people. Celebrate your successes and learn from each experience. Consider using the Circle Process when creating plans, or when dealing with a conflict.

Close with a song, a game and give every one a chance to check-out with just a few words (more heart, less thoughts).
